Tied to a tree, left dead, and yet, this pit-bull continued to protect her precious secret

When it comes to dog breeds, pit bulls probably have the worst reputation.
They are often unjustly labeled as aggressive, dangerous and ticking time bombs that can break out in anger at any time.

But these are labels that are plagued by prejudiced people. Should these people get to know what pit bull is, they would probably remember one thing about them: their big heart.

That's right - pit bulls are often hot, sweet and incredibly loyal dogs.

Pitbull Lara was found dumped outside the Greek port of the town of Nafplion.

Lara's owner had left her alone on a deserted site, but she was also tied to a tree without food or water.



Lonely and scared, Lara was left to her fate.

What made this case even worse was that the neighbors knew that Lara was tied to a tree in the woods, but nobody wanted to approach her because they were afraid of her breed.

It's a mystery how long the poor dog was tied to the tree.

And the story does not end there - Lara was pregnant.

Bang alone in the woods, unable to go somewhere, she loved five cute puppies.

Although she did not have enough food, Lara managed to take 10 painful days for her puppies - until her rescuers found her.



Fortunately, someone at an animal welfare organization reported the situation.

When rescue workers discovered Lara, it was immediately clear that they were dealing with a malnourished and extremely dehydrated dog.

But they were even more surprised to see her little puppies happily jumping around.

Despite the great efforts of the mother, the five puppies had very heavy and unfortunately died the least pup during 10 days.


Linda van The Orphan Pet, decided to embrace Lara and she also brought her four little puppies.

Although she was rescued and living in a loving home with Linda, Lara was retired and she did not trust her new owner. She also refused to eat, and it was clear that she was traumatized.
