Her husband is killed in Afghanistan, then she turns on his laptop and finds a file that he kept hidden from her
This happened a while ago, but it contains one of the most beautiful expressions of love I have ever seen.
In September 2010, Todd Weaver, the first Lieutenant of the US Army, served in Afghanistan when he was killed by an explosive.
His widow, Emma, was broken and his 9-month-old daughter, Kylie, should never get to know her sweet father.

But two days after Todd's funeral, Emma turned on his computer and found two Word documents. One with the filename 'Sweet Emma' and the other with 'Sweet Kiley.'
Todd had written the letters before being sent to Afghanistan, in case the worst thing would happen.
Read the two heartbreaking, but also beautiful letters below:
The first letter is from Todd for his wife, Emma:
Dear Emma:
If you read this, I think I did not have to get home again, and that means I was unable to help you remember how much I love you.

I love you so much, and I will always love you. Although I may not be there, you can find comfort in the fact that I am watching you now.
I want you to know how important you are to me. I could not wish for a woman who is more caring, more beautiful and loving than you. Although it may seem that my life ended too late, I led a life that others can only dream of. I am married to the perfect woman. I have a beautiful daughter who once again amazes me.
I even had two amazing dogs - at least mostly than that. If you feel sad, think back to the memories we shared. Look at our daughter and how beautiful she is.
Be strong for her. Remind her of her dad and tell her I loved her a lot.

There are better times. You and Kiley have a wonderful life for you and I'm so glad I've been able to share part of you with you.
I love you.
Your loving husband,
Todd
Todd's second letter was for his 9-month-old daughter, Kiley:

Dear Kiley, my darling:
Although you can not remember me again, I want you to know how much your dad loves you.

I went to Afghanistan when you were 9 months old.
Leaving behind you was the hardest thing I should ever do.
The best day of my life was the day you were born.
I'm sorry I will not see you grow up.
But remember, your dad is not gone. I'm in heaven and look for a smile with you every day.
You've been blessed with such a great mother.

With lots of love,

Nothing can make up for Emma and Kiley's loss, but we're so glad Todd has been able to write these letters before he died and that Emma has found them.
